New-look Layering
The Cut
This style is designed for women who love long locks, but want a modern look. The ends of the hair remain largely untouched, with a small amount of slicing to create the illusion of movement, but textured layers around the head make lifting the style up and out easier. A sweeping fringe brings attention to the eyes. Fine hair benefits from extra volume, while thick hair is tamed because a lot of the hulk can be removed. The style can also be adapted to curly hair, as the short layers lighten curls that suffer from a flat hat-hair look on top.
The Colour
Cool mocha enhances the natural, uncontrived style of the cut. Slight highlights were scattered through the hair, starting at the mid-lengths, running from under the top layer to the ends, in keeping with a natural sun-kissed look. Our model has a cool blue undertone to her skin, so her hair colour is also kept cool.
The Styling
A number of looks can be created simply by changing your products and styling tools. For a modern up-do, use a tail comb to backcomb the roots of a mohawk-shape section of hair from the forehead to top hack of the head. Lightly spray with Redken Workforce
hairspray before using bobby pins to clip into a high, rolled coif on top of the head. Gather the remainder of your hair in a low ponytail and loosely backcomb before pinning sections up around the elastic.
